Women’s Bible Study

Join us on Tuesday evenings for our Women’s Bible Study. This is a great way to grow in your walk with the Lord and an opportunity to get to know other women in the fellowship. We encourage you to get involved in one of the small groups! They are great for accountability and developing godly friendships. We meet in the Main Sanctuary at 7:00 p.m. for worship and Bible Study, then split into groups at 8:00 p.m. (optional). Children’s Ministry is available for Nursery through 5th grade. We look forward to having you join us!

Women’s Prayer Chain

What is the Prayer Chain?

The Prayer Chain is a prayer ministry available to the body of Christ to request prayer for emergency situations (i.e. accidents, surgeries, delivery of baby, crisis). Women from the body make themselves available to pray as needed. When an emergency request comes to the church it is then forwarded to those involved in the Prayer Chain ministry to begin to immediately cover the request in prayer. Involvement in the prayer ministry is done by phone. If you choose to be involved by phone then when a request comes you can either receive a call and pass it on to the next person on the chain or request that a message be left on your telephone answering machine and then pray as soon as you have an opportunity.

Who Can Participate?

Any woman who has a heart for prayer and attends Calvary Chapel South Bay can participate in this ministry. To get involved simply fill out the Prayer Chain Form ( Download Prayer Chain Flyer ) and leave it off at the Main Office of the church. The Prayer Chain overseer will call you as soon as she has received your form.

How Does The Prayer Chain Operate?

When a request is received, a phone call will be made to the first woman on the Prayer Chain and she will in turn call the woman under her and so forth until the last woman on the chain is reached. The last person on the chain will call the Prayer Chain captain to let her know that the request has gone all the way through the chain. Once you receive a request by phone your responsibility will be twofold. First you are to contact the person directly under you on the chain and give her the details of the prayer request. Next you are to pray for the request as the Lord leads you.

For answering machine calls you will receive a brief message concerning the request and you are to pray once you receive the message. There is no need to pass the information on to another person when you are on this chain. This allows you to participate in the Prayer Chain ministry without putting an extra time commitment on yourself.

Where Do People Call with a Request?

People who have a prayer request call the church main office and give the request to the person answering the phone who, in turn, passes it along to the Prayer Chain overseer.
